Accelerated Systems Inc. (ASi) creates intelligent drivetrain solutions for battery electric and hybrid vehicles. The unique focus on non-automotive vehicle applications helps customers capitalize on the same opportunities that car companies are realizing for fuel efficiency and environmental benefits. The companys products and services help vehicle manufacturers innovate improvements to vehicle features, drivability, and performance quickly. ASi has proprietary technology for power dense motors and motor controllers, packaged into compact and modular hub, traction, or accessory drive modules. Based on the strength of its drivetrain component technology, ASi has secured product supply contracts with some of the largest international companies in a variety of consumer vehicle product categories. ASi has product and market interest in power-dense drivetrains, particularly in emerging consumer markets for light electric vehicles (LEVs), including electric two-wheel vehicles and outdoor power equipment. The company has background IP in switched reluctance and interior permanent magnet motor design and in power-dense motor controllers. In order to further improve the companys industrial competitiveness and technological advancement, ASi would like to establish a long term project with McMaster University on power-dense system development. A collaborative R&D effort will be established to investigate emerging technologies and develop innovative power-dense electric drive systems for light electric vehicles.
