The main objective of this research project is to verify the effectiveness of the addition of Aramid pulp in asphalt mixes to make longer lasting asphalt mixtures. The addition of Aramid pulp or short fibers could provide benefits of durability to bituminous materials and enable Canadian asphalt companies to innovate in value added, longer lasting, better performing bituminous products, thereby reducing maintenance costs of our roads and enabling our Canadian civil engineering services companies to differentiate themselves with new technologies and improved performance.
