Given the axis of convergence of energy policy in Canada, the development of improved energy storage devices is essential to the achievement of strategic objectives like carbon removal, establishment of a true "smart grid" or market growth of electrical vehicles. In addition, consumers are in constant demand for batteries with larger autonomy and such demand imposes the development of new materials, new battery technologies and research on new storage systems. The requested infrastructure in this application will help to develop advanced battery and supercapacitor technologies with characteristics such as high energy densities and a high degree of safety.
