The industry partner, Cast Connex, has developed an innovative structural element (Yielding Brace System, YBS) which can reduce the dynamic response of a structure from earthquake loads. The brace is equipped with a yielding connector, which is intended to dissipate energy during an earthquake through flexural yielding of the connector's specially designed cast steel yielding fingers.
