I2I market assessment of a carbon nanosphere technology

This I2I application aims at seeking the support for undertaking a market assessment of a carbon nanosphere technology that is being developed by Dr. Zhibin Ye at Laurentian. Carbon nanospheres of well-defined tunable sizes find important applications in a variety of areas, including electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage, adsorbents, and catalyst supports. Dr. Ye and his team have recently invented a scalable technology that can efficiently produce carbon nanospheres of well-defined easily tunable sizes in the most desired range of 10-50 nm at high production yield. Some applications of these carbon nanospheres have also been explored with some superior performance properties demonstrated. This I2I application is thus made to move this technology forward for potential patenting and commercialization.
