The current outbreak of COVID-19 after recent infectious diseases such as SARS, MERS, Ebola, and different influenza variants has emerged that fast and accurate diagnosis is an important factor in the prevention of other global health and economic threats. A CMOS-based biosensor is a sensing structure that can detect the variations in the target biomarker's concentration and transform these variations into a meaningful electrical signal. CMOS-based biosensors have proven advantageous in terms of small size, low cost, high resolution, and high throughput. The developed technique can be used in health care facilities, such as walk-in clinics and hospitals. Additionally, since the proposed mechanism is fully autonomous, it's possible to use this readout mechanism for fast and accurate disease diagnosis for the public without requiring trained operators. Moreover, proper target recognition elements make it easily applicable in chemical detection applications for gas and other chemical detections in industrial environments.This proposal will be working on a market assessment to better understand how to bring this innovative technology to the market.
