The proposed research will quantify the biological impacts of wastewater effluent exposure on fish in Cootes Paradise, a marsh adjacent to Hamilton Harbour. Fish are chronically exposed to wastewater and can be thought of as sentinels of ecosystem health and function, but we know very little about the impacts of many contaminants in wastewater on fish. The proposed research will examine the zone and magnitude of impact of wastewater effluent on the local fish community. It will also explore the factors in wastewater effluent that have the greatest contribution to these impacts in bluegill sunfish, a species that is both ecologically and
