Market assessment for a CO2 electrolyzer

Carbon dioxide can be converted into products of higher value using electrocatalytic conversion. Whilesystems that enable this process exist on a lab scale, no such electrolyzer technology is currently commerciallyavailable. Our research group has developed a novel CO2 flow cell architecture that overcomes many of theinherent performance limitations in traditional setups. We are now at a stage where we want to construct acohesive road-map to commercialization, and germane to this effort is a comprehensive study to assess our bestroute to market entry. In this idea-2-innovation project we will work with UBC's university industry liaisonoffice (UILO) and an external market assessment company (Adventus) to collect the necessary informationfrom multiple industry sectors that may be our potential clients. The result from this study will allow us toproceed to commercialization with industry support but the end of 2018.
