英文摘要
Mawashi is a Canadian company that has developed and marketed a new product for enhancing humanperformance called 'exoskeleton', consisting of a light-weight metallic structure adjusted to each soldier's ownbody (US patent no: US20150366694, 12/ 2015). This exoskeleton offers a assistance to reduce the soldier'sphysical effort while carrying loads. The goal of this research project is to quantify the extent of theexoskeleton's capacity to reduce weight on the soldier, and performance improvement while carrying heavyloads. To do this, we will combine our research team expertise (biomechanics, kinesiology, motor control) withstate-of-the-art evaluation and analysis equipment (instrumented treadmill, 3D movement capture, wirelessmuscle activation measures). Soldiers will be tested in controlled laboratory conditions simulating real ofindoor/ outdoor situations while wearing a custom-fitted exoskeleton and carrying loads. The quantification ofthe exoskeleton's performance will help Mawashi fine-tune the design of their apparatus and provide a betterand safer experience to soldiers.
