The Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research (SOCAAR) at the University of Toronto willpartner with IMAX to investigate potential link between image quality and air quality in their theatres, andadvise on standards for indoor air quality in IMAX theatres. Researchers will look for associations betweenscreen/projector degradation and ambient air quality in select theatres worldwide. Results from this work willenable IMAX to continue to deliver a world-class cinema experience, and provide economic benefit in regardsto the longevity of their screens and high-tech projectors. As an added co-benefit of characterizing anddeveloping an indoor air quality standard, cinema-goers will be potentially exposed to less pollution, improvinghealth outcomes.
