英文摘要
In 2012 Kluane Drilling Ltd. visited the Samp prospect and collected samples showing up to 18 ppbgold, 55.5 ppm molybdenum, 129 ppm lead, 5,600 ppm silver, 840 ppm arsenic, 70 ppm bismuth,8639 ppm barium, >300 ppm tungsten, 45 ppm tin, 0.73 ppm tellurium, and 3.25 ppm thallium, including one sample containing an extremely rich 604.5 grams per tonne Au and >300 ppm silver. These numbers and other features found at the property were thought to be indicative of Carlintype mineralization. However, new research done with the support of an Engage Grant supports a completely differentmineralization scenario (intrusion-related, potentially polymetallic), and additional data are necessary to obtainresults that the company can use to design an efficient and effective exploration program. The purpose of the proposed study is to test the hypothesis that the Samp prospect represents anintrusion-related deposit by mapping specific geological features and collecting samples for whole-rockgeochemical assay, petrography, and electron probe microanalysis. This will expand on the mapping andmineralogical and geochemical work done in the original study and will include a detailed evaluation of allparts of the mineralizing system. The results will show if the hypothesis of an intrusion-related deposit iscorrect and will enable the industrial partner to design a suitable exploration program.
