英文摘要
ACQBUILT Inc. is a leader in North America in panelized construction, operating a state-of-the-artindustrialized panel production facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Using advanced technologies and amanufacturing-based approach, the company carries out homebuilding operations from design andprefabrication to delivery and onsite assembly. Leading edge technologies and methods employed in thisprocess include in-house structural design, the use of engineered wood products from top-end manufacturers,high-precision computer numerical control machinery, engineered permit-ready drawings, all leveraging thebenefits of installation and prefabrication within a climate-controlled and safe manufacturing environment. However, at present quality control at ACQBUILT is a manual process. The quality control personnel manuallycheck every wall and floor component and match the actual wall to the drawing to identify defects. This is atime-consuming process that is subject to the possibility of human error. The proposed research project will address the problem of automated inspection of panelized building productsusing computer vision technology. The research team will develop a prototype system to support (and possiblyfully automate) the quality control process. The system will be equipped with a camera, data storage, andwireless communication technology. In addition, the system will be equipped with an RFID reader foridentification of inspected products. It will also include data management and communication to facilitateaccess to captured images and remote control of the inspection process.
