The College of New Caledonia and Endura-Form Plastic Solutions Ltd. are collaborating on an appliedresearch project to research the use of modular heated flooring panels for application in the horticulture sector.Endura-Form is a company based in Chilliwack, British Columbia, and manufactures injection-molded heatedplastic panels that are used for floor heating in a wide range of industrial sectors. These panels are made of100% recycled materials, are strong enough to support heavy industrial equipment, and keep surfaces warmand snow-free at a low cost. Endura-Form panels are currently used in sectors including oil & gas, fuellingstations, and aviation.Endura-Form now seeks to develop a lighter panel that can be used in a range of lighter duty applicationsincluding residential and horticulture. The heated panels show tremendous potential for heating greenhouses incold climates and extending the growing season. College staff and students will lead a research project thatwill test the current line of Endura-Form panels in a greenhouse application, in order to provide data thatEndura can use to develop their new line of panels. The project will take place at the College's research andteaching greenhouse in Quesnel, BC, and will involve students in our Horticulture program.
