Cabin Forestry Services Ltd. and the College of New Caledonia are collaborating on an applied research project to develop an innovative technology-based livestock monitoring system that integrates remote sensing, thermal imaging and machine intelligence. This collaboration will explore emerging machine learning and computer vision technologies to automate livestock counts and identification using specific thermal and visible signals captured through remote sensing platforms. This project will help Cabin Forestry Service develop a new service for agriculture clients in southern British Columbia, and will introduce a new innovation for the Canadian agriculture sector.
