项目摘要

The proposed Chair supports increased renewable energy (RE) use across Canada by creating a tool that links national and regional energy modelling with local initiatives. Three challenges associated with RE implementation are addressed by 1) providing a basis for anticipating and gauging the potential impacts of disruptive change in renewable energy technology or usage; 2) exploring the impacts of various local innovations in energy at the regional or national scale; and 3) assessing and mitigating the impacts of increased RE use on the existing energy sector. Existing tools are levered to deliver policy-relevant data to decision-makers across Canada.
