项目摘要
The present experimental project is to measure the capture efficiency of domestic range hoods and then to propose optimized designs. New regulations in North America will impose to measure this parameter in a close future as it has been done for labelling purpose in Europe few years ago. This is of prime importance since most of indoor pollutant emissions are due to cooking activities. This will help reducing the pollutant emissions and thus improving human health and air indoor quality. Flow velocity and concentration measurements will be conducted by three measurement techniques. The standard test method developed by ASTM international will be followed. A better insight into the flow dynamics of the plume should be gained enabling to propose alternative scenarios to the existing standards.
