Additive manufacturing is a novel and immature technology with has the potential to revolutionize the**manufacturing industry. The materials that can be used to produce parts using this technology is continuously**increasing. Particular if expensive and difficult to machine materials are required to enhance component life,**additive manufacturing can significantly reduce manufacturing costs. StelliteTM is one of these materials**which will extend component life in harsh and demanding environments. However, solid wire material, used in**direct metal deposition additive manufacturing is difficult and expensive to produce. Therefore Kennametal**Stellite is proposing to use powder filled tubular wire for this purpose. The goal of this research is to show that**tubular powder filled wire can be used as filler material for additive manufacturing.
