The project focuses on developing a better thermal management solution for the next generation smart**thermostat. These thermostats offer the opportunity for significant energy cost savings through advanced**control of electric home heating elements. One deterrent for successful market adoption is the footprint that**current smart thermostats require. Most consumers are not fond of the larger packaging required over current**analog devices. Coupled with additional components, smart thermostats which can be controlled via the**internet or smartphones, are generally larger due the heat sink requirements within their packaging. Consumers**desire sleek streamlined packaging, and thus to make packaging smaller, significant effort is required to**streamline the cooling requirements to meet the cooling challenge and the required safe operation of these**smart thermostats.
