My research program is aimed at developing new methods to synthesize advanced macromolecular nanomaterials with multifunctionalities that will address important problems at the crossroad of biology, biomedicine, and materials science. The novel biomaterials we are creating offer enormous potential for cancer research, diagnosis, and therapeutics, while highly-valued nanomaterials are useful for energy-related and industrial applications. Outlined with four objectives, our research will greatly contribute to our fundamental understanding and the advancement of knowledge regarding the design of polymer-based nanomaterials for biomedical and nanoscience research. Our studies offer tremendous potential to improve the quality of life for Canadians.
