项目摘要

SaskCanola (SC) in combination with SaskWheat (SW) and the Prairie Agricultural Machine Institute (PAMI) has initiated a research project designed to assess different tillage and crop residue treatments on growth and productivity of canola crops. Saskatchewan Polytechnic has been asked to partner in this research with the objective of developing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) solution for: 1) measuring crop residue volume and distribution; 2) developing crop residue degradation indices, and; 3) monitoring the emergence and health of succeeding crops. By leveraging new technology in combination with new and innovative workflows, Saskatchewan Polytechnic stands to make significant contributions to the advancement of food production through improved agriculture monitoring technologies.
