英文摘要
Tracking workplace safety certifications is an important process that ensures workplace safety while maximizing production quantity and quality. Coolbreeze, a Mississauga-based HVAC company, seeks to partner with Sheridan College to develop algorithms to automate this process to improve the process efficiency, accessibility and reliability while reducing costs associated with their manual in-house tracking process. The proposed model will involve the development of several algorithms that combine mobile computing and cloud computing for automatic tracking, administering, archiving, reporting, scheduling and analyzing all safety certifications and licenses that an individual holds throughout the course of their career. The algorithms will improve the efficiency and accessibility of safety-related certifications for verification purposes. This research project will: 1) investigate the usage of the available data analytics platforms, cloud platforms and mobile computing technologies to automate the tracking and analysis of safety-related certifications; and 2) provide guidelines/notifications on expected verification and renewal dates to meet the legislated safety requirements. The applied research to be undertaken will add a core component to an existing safety-related certification system. This component automates the certification verification and renewal process. It will also help the industry partner to select the most qualified technicians, which will improve safety and product quality and, in turn, promote client trust and attract new customers. In addition, it will engage students in addressing real-world problems, which will increase their potential for contributing to future innovation.
