Rare metal (Nb, Ta, REE) mineralization in the eldor carbonate complex, Quebec

Critical metals are those that are essential for high-technology, green and other strategic applications, and whose supplies are at risk for political or other reasons. These include the rare earth elements, niobium and tantalum, metals that are commonly associated with unusual types of igneous rocks made of carbonate (carbonatites). Zimtu Capital Corp. is investigating one such occurrence in northern Québec, the Eldor Complex, that contains high concentrations of some of the critical REE, as well as high grades of niobium. Our research is designed to understand the character of this mineralization and why the metals were concentrated. We will investigate the chemical composition of a variety of minerals to develop a model for the evolution of mineralization in the complex. This is designed to help Zimtu understand this resource and to better explore and develop these types of deposits. It will improve Canada's knowledge base for this aspect of mineral deposit geology.
