The emissions of Greenhouse Gasses (GHGs) have substantial negative impacts on human health, the environment, and the economy of Canada. These impacts will be even more severe unless efforts are taken by governments, firms and individuals to reduce emissions. The proposed program of research aims to develop novel cost-effective solutions to address the urgent issue of GHG emissions generated by carbon-intensive industries, and to address higher reliability of renewable power systems, solutions which are fundamental for advancing the transition towards clean energy and sustainability.
