英文摘要
Nondestructive testing is in important method when commissioning and testing materials and assemblies ofnew and existing buildings. Infrared thermography is a key tool used when evaluating the performance of abuilding and when identifying deficiencies and problems. Infrared thermography capturing full radiometricvideos allow for the capture and analysis of transient and transitional thermal effects within materials andassemblies. New methods for using infrared thermography are being identified in the electrical, electronic, manufacturing and aerospace fields. Acoustic performance of materials, assemblies and spaces are becoming ofgreater importance as urban densification is improved as a result of climate change. The National BuildingCode of Canada prescribes three methods for demonstration of compliance with acoustic requirements: field measurement; prescriptive procedure; and design procedure. Due to the requirement of the building to beconstructed before conducting field measurements, as well as the cost of testing, designers typically use theprescriptive procedure or design procedure, but real work actuals of the assemblies, space usage and external factors may result in unwanted noise pollution.Indoor air quality and occupant health is a growing concern with the push for increased energy efficiency ofbuildings. Increased energy efficiency usually includes the tightening of the building envelope by reducingpoints of air egress of ingress. This reduction can lead to poor indoor air quality as less fresh air may beentering the space from either controlled or uncontrolled means. Common indoor air quality pollutants such as volatile organic compounds (VOC), Nitrogren Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Radon and others can bedetrimental to the health of occupants. Healthier workplace indoor air quality improves worker productivitythrough reduced lost time due to health problems, and improved output.
