My research lies at the crossroads of organic chemistry, materials science, and nanotechnology, with a focus on designing and synthesizing photoresponsive compounds and integrating them with nanosystems. Some of these compounds behave as molecular switches molecules that reversibly change their structure and function when triggered with light, electricity, or chemical stimuli. Others undergo programmed photoreactions tailored for specific end technologies from optoelectronic and security devices to photodynamic therapy and medical imaging.
