Nanostructured materials (systems with nanoscale dimensions) could be the key to mastering promising technologies such as electronic and photonic devices, including e.g. solar cells. The ability to control structural synthesis at the nanoscale will lead to new functional materials with unprecedented physical and chemical properties. My team uses advanced techniques for the synthesis and morphological and chemical characterization of nanoscale building blocks, aiming at understanding and controlling structure/property relationships in different classes of materials and integrating them in devices.
