英文摘要
Point-of-care diagnostic systems are envisioned to significantly improve the quality of healthcare by bringing complex disease diagnostic and screening tests, currently performed at centralized laboratories, to patients locations. However, only a few systems have been commercialized for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection of cancers, infectious diseases, hereditary disease, etc. The proposed research is expected to transform the way these systems are manufactured by employing ink-based fabrication methods to create structurally-tuned solid-phase electronics functionalized with bio-receptors. This will allow multiple biomedical devices for processing clinical samples and detecting genetic markers to be miniaturized and created on a single scalable and inexpensive system.
