This proposal describes altering existing Serpe Group sensing technology to address the pressing need for new, fast, inexpensive, and portable diagnostic tools for COVID-19 infection. The strength of the approach that we are proposing is that we believe it can be used to detect both active and past COVID-19 infection. Furthermore, the approaches that we will develop here will be able to be easily adapted to detect emerging virus infections.
