英文摘要
The medical marijuana industry has been creating a lot of attention over the past year, with the new Liberal Government hinting at full legalization in the coming months. This dialogue has gotten companies and investors looking to expand production in preparation for the government's legalization announcement. One thing that is essential for the medical marijuana industry is the analysis of the product such that its chemical composition can be certified before it can be distributed and sold. While there are testing and certification techniques currently available, many of which can be found at Keystone Labs, there is a need for home testing kits, which will streamline certification procedures for growers and make the whole process less expensive. In this project, we will develop inexpensive sensing technology that will be able to be shipped to growers such that the chemical composition of their product can be analyzed at their site. Once the composition of the product is at the point (potency) where they are satisfied, they can then send it in to Keystone for final certification. By doing this, the grower will avoid sending the product in for analysis before it has reached its full potency, which would then require the grower to send in another sample for analysis, waisting both time and money.
