英文摘要
The increasing adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM), a seminal innovation also considered as disruptive technologies, has triggered a revolution in the construction industry. Aggressive goals have been set by countries such as UK, Sweden and Norway to reduce cost and ecological footprint, and improving delivery time by 30 to 50%. Canada is lagging behind this international movement, which has a direct impact not only on the construction industry's competiveness, but also on the value it creates for the Canadian society as well as the potential to reduce its overall environmental footprint. Research and education in Canada are also lagging behind, denying the industry of highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) with essential competences in BIM. This research project aims at developing, in close collaboration with 10 industry partners representing the whole built environment ecosystem, a data-centered model for maximizing value creation and management of building assets through their complete lifecycle.
