Le projet propose de développer des catalyseurs pour diverses réactions de synthèse de carbonates partant dedifférents matériaux d'origine végétale.#(cr)#(lf)Using CO2 as a chemical reactant is especially important for the advent of a new era in which the CO2generated in all combustion processes will be captured in order to avoid global warming. Carbonates synthesesparticularly that of cyclic carbonates, is a real good example for two reasons. First it performs a so called atomeconomy, which means that all atoms in the reactants are recovered in the targeted product. There is thereforeno loss of material in by-products. Secondly, carbonates can be used in production of various polymers(polycarbonates, polyurethanes, polyamides) which are currently produced on very large scales from fossilcarbon. Thus carbonates production shows a strong potential for profitable large scale valorization of CO2.In this project it is proposed to develop catalysts for a variety of carbonates synthesis reactions based ondifferent materials of vegetable origin.
