Recruitment of clinical trial participants is the biggest challenge for Dicentra, like any other CROs, and it iscurrently carried out by engaging traditional media advertising means - which is highly ineffective andcontributes to clinical trials being so expensive. Conventional recruitment approach costs approximately $200per trial per participant. As a CRO, Dicentra is currently facing challenges with the recruitment, retention andmanagement of their clinical trial participants, data management and data quality control. In order to overcomethese challenges, Dicentra will collaborate with WITMACH to develop a platform-independent, user-friendly,Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled web application to collect and manage potentially interested participants'information, identify appropriate participants from their database for specific clinical trials based on a set ofpre-defined criteria, encourage participants to invite their friends for the trials. The solution will also integratean innovative recruitment point system which can significantly reduce their recruitment cost (< 1/10th). ManyCRO's have referral programs, but none are built into a web platform where points are immediatelyredeemable, and the user can view the balance of their points account in real time. The web applicationdeveloped in the proposed project will provide an organic growth tool for Dicentra to overcome some of theirbiggest challenges in conducting clinical trials.
