Xello, formerly Career Cruising, is an education software company launched in 1997. The award-winning webapplication, Xello app suite, is widely used by school boards and individual schools across North America andthe United Kingdom to help their students in college and career planning. In the proposed collaborative project,Xello and Centennial College's Wearable, Interactive and Mobile Technologies Access Centre in Health(WIMTACH) will plan and create a novel migration strategy which will resolve issues such as: replacingdeprecated code/functions and outdated libraries, and the challenges of having to modify business logic andreplacing the existing framework may raise security issues, thus requiring specific integration in code-base andto port all of the components to the web-component standard, in a framework agnostic and pluggableway.WIMTACH will facilitate this project by bringing on-board their experts in software development. Theproposed project will strengthen Centennial College's expertise in the software development life cycle (SDLC)and enhance the interaction and interdisciplinary partnership between college staff, researchers, faculties, students, and industry.
