项目摘要

The Wearable Interactive and Mobile Technologies Access Centre in Healthcare (WIMTACH) was established by Centennial College in 2015 based on the Colleges track record of supporting health technology companies in Ontario for the past nine years. The TAC, funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, helps supporting both Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs) and hospitals in innovative technology/ product development from idea to commercialization stage, and technology adoptions. Over the past four years, in response to industry demand, WIMTACH has become a leader in support for mobile technologies, interactive technologies, wearable technologies, sensors integration, medical devices development, prototype design, innovative technologies that target patients, healthcare professionals, healthy living and emerging concerns faced by the healthcare system . Located in Toronto, WIMTACH is at the center of Ontarios life sciences cluster, a key segment of which is the medical technology sector. In the past four years, WIMTACH has completed 68 projects, collaborated with 90 industry partners, and developed more than 60 new technologies and products.WIMTACH also engages Centennial students and faculty on applied research and other industry projects, providing enhanced learning experiences for students and valuable opportunities for faculty while building a competitive advantage for companies throughout the health technology industries.
