项目摘要
Climate models¿ projections for the future need to be validated to ensure the development of resilience in response to a changing climate. A part of energy in the climate system is stored underground. The program outlined for this CRC will examine the thermodynamics of the land-surface models to identify better practices based on the accounting of the measured continental heat. Using modeling tools, the program will also study heat transfer phenomena near the ground that are feedbacks in the global climate. Applications of the tools used here for societal needs will be one of the benefits of this program.
