New opportunities in personalized medicine have created a need for larger numbers of selective drug molecules. To address this need, Dr. Wulff has worked to invent efficient synthetic methods that can be used to access a suite of conformationally constrained scaffold molecules. In the second term of his CRC, he proposes to apply these scaffolds to create new drug candidates that potently and selectively bind to medicinally important protein targets. These new agents will ultimately be used for the treatment of several types of human cancer.
