英文摘要
The proposed DG research program is on a novel indoor millimetre wave (mmWave) access architecture, called mmWoC, in 5G NR and beyond mobile communication systems. Incorporated with Integrated Backhaul Access (IAB) and Analog-modulated Radio over copper System (ARS), the proposed mmWoC architecture interconnects an outdoor mmBS with indoor user equipments (IUEs) via analog relaying at the mmWave Small Cell base station (mmSC) and indoor radio units (IRUs). The use of CAT5/6/7 cables and all-analog processing along the signal path between the mmBS and IUEs makes it significantly cost-effective and easy-to-operate compared to all its counterpart solutions. By identifying interference mitigation (IM) as the most important task to push the proposed mmWoC a success, the proposed research program will firstly investigate a compound radio-cable-radio (R-C-R) multi-user channels that represents the cascade of the three links: mmBS-mmSC, mmSC-IRU, and IRU-UE. Based on the channel models, we will focus on the development of relevant precoding and multi-user detection (MUD) techniques for the downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) transmissions, respectively, under various conditions of IUEs and system operations. Further, the scenario of spectrum slicing under multiple service providers (SPs) on a pool of mmBSs is considered, where we will leverage the technique of interference recycling (IRC) for the purpose of user data privacy preservation among the SPs. We believe the proposed research program will solidly contribute to the state-of-the-art regarding the architecture, operation, and applicability of indoor systems under 5G NR, as well as a fruitful HQP training result thanks to the versatile nature of the proposed research topics that cover a number of key issues of the modern mobile communication systems.
