英文摘要
The single layer diamond (CBN) grinding wheels play a very important role.in the manufacturing and production of super hard abrasive grinding wheels. They have been widely used in high speed and high efficiency grinding as easy making,no dressing need, highest wear resistance and productivity. The electroplating and brazing are the common methods to produce the single diamond (CBN) wheels.The general problems of electroplates are less combination between the matrix and.abrasives which cause the abrasives dropping easily. Brazing of super hard.materials needs high vacuum, best quality abrasives and complex processing.Combustion Synthesis (SHS) is a new developed method to produce new materials with short time, high purity, less pollution, energy and material need.Based on the SHS theory a new method is invented in this project supported by NSFC. In the past year, we have done al lot of tests to select the suitable SHS reaction system of Ni-Al, Al-Ti, Ni-Ti. The major processes and results are shown as follows.Firstly, the diamonds is distributed on the surface of steel matrix, which has.been layered by SHS reaction powder. These diamonds may be normal or coated.with metal such as Ti, Ni, Cr etc.. Then, a high frequency heater or a vacuum heater fires the metal powder protected by the inert gas or vacuum. The SHS reaction will melt the powder and make the new generated alloy welding with the matrix etallurgically. The melted powder will also weld the diamond firmly as the new carbide is generated between the diamond and some of the metal. Finally the metallurgical combination between matrix-SHS generated materials-diamond is chieved. The grinding test show that the sample of single layer diamond grinding.wheels are with good d protrusive iamond, wear resistance and higher productivity.The results of this project will bring us a new rapid, green and high quality manufacturing method of single layer diamond tools..The continuous research works has been doing now. Several invention rights.will be provided. Two papers have been published.
