AbstractAward: DMS-0943046Principal Investigator: Zhongmin ShenRiemannian geometry plays an important role in many areas ofmathematics and natural science. Recent study also shows thatnon-Riemannian geometry has applications in mathematicalpsychology, general relativity, PDE, navigation problems, imagingprocess, and module spaces, etc. Riemannian geometry providessome basic tools to study non-Riemannian spaces. There are alsonew methods developed exclusively for the investigation ofnon-Riemannian spaces.This workshop will provide a platform for geometers tocommunicate with each other and discuss the research projects forthe future. This workshop will also provide a good opportunityfor mathematicians to understand non-Riemannian geometry and findmotivation to work in this area.
