Research on learning support systems for experiment aiming problem exploration

我们实施了一个计算机工具来帮助学习者收集和处理物理入门课程的实验室实验数据。我们使用这个工具来记录学习者在课程中的活动，并对记录进行分析以发现问题。发现学习者需要解决的问题如下：由于实验计划不完整导致的测量参数疏忽、测量不当导致的测量值不自然、计算公式错误、有效数字不正确等。为了从数据处理工具中记录的信息中检测出这些问题状态，我们定义了条件并在工具中实现了辅助模块。给学习者的建议分为两类。一是提示学习者在实验过程中进行纠正，因为发现的问题是必不可少的。二是为学习者提供实验后讨论的问题。为了给学习者及时的建议，该工具从记录的信息中掌握实验的进展。为了加深对实验结果的讨论，有时需要通过补充实验来收集数据。但是由于时间的限制，在课堂上很难。我们实现了一个数据共享工具，学习者可以通过检索其他学习者的数据来比较自己的结果。

We implemented a computer tool to assist learners to collect and to process data for laboratory experiments on introductory physics courses. We used this tool to record learners' activity in a course, and analyzed the record to find problems. Found issues that are necessary for learners to be addressed are as follows; oversight of measurement parameters which may be caused by incomplete experiment plans, unnatural measured values which may be caused by inappropriate measurement, errors in calculation formula, inappropriate significant digits, etc.In order to detect these problematic states from information recorded in the data processing tool, we defined conditions and implemented an assistance module in the tool. Advice given to learners is classified into two categories. One is to prompt learners to correction in the middle of experiment because detected issues are essential. The other is to provide learners issues to discuss after the experiment. In order to give learners advice timely, the tool grasps progress of experiment from recorded information.To deepen discussion about results of experiment, it is sometimes necessary to collect data by supplemental experiment. But it is difficult in class because of time limitation. We realized a data sharing tool, with which learners retrieve other learner's data to compare their own results.
