Study of Buddhist Manuscripts from Afghanistan

本研究项目的目的是研究1990年代初在巴米扬山谷东部Zargaran区一座石头修道院废墟中发现的大量以各种印度文字书写的佛教手稿碎片。这些不同的手稿被欧洲和美国以及日本的不同收藏家保存，其中最具代表性的是挪威的Schoyen收藏。一个国际联合研究小组已经开始破译这些手稿，我们的研究结果已经出版了三卷，第四卷将作为四年研究项目的结果在不久的将来在奥斯陆出版。

The purpose of this research project is to study on a huge cache of Buddhist manuscript fragments written in various kinds of Indic script discovered from the ruins of a stone monastery in the Zargaran district located in the eastern part of the Bamiyan valley during the early 1990s. These various manuscripts are preserved by different collectors in Europe and America, as well as Japan, with the most representative one being the Schoyen Collection of Norway. An international joint research team has begun to decipher these manuscripts, and the results of our research findings have been published in three volumes and the forth one will be released in Oslo in the near future as a result of the four years research project.
