Identifying Effective Training and Support for the Professional Development of Elementary School English Teachers

本研究的目的是确定从2020年起，可以为必须教授英语课程或英语活动的小学教师提供的在线培训和支持的类型以及这种支持的有效性。为此，研究人员组织了对小学英语教师的访谈。2022年11月，在日本福冈国际会议中心举行的JALT 2022会议上，两位研究人员对访谈结果进行了转录和分析，并以混合形式报告了调查结果。为了进行比较，还在国外进行了学校访问和教师非正式听证会。这些访谈为制定2023年的大规模调查提供了基础。

This study aims to identify the types of training and support that can be offered online to elementary school teachers who have to teach English classes or English language activities from 2020 and the effectiveness of such support.To this end, the researchers organized interviews with elementary school teachers of English. The interviews were transcribed and analysed and the findings were reported in a hybrid-type presentation by the two researchers at the JALT 2022 Conference at the Fukuoka International Congress Center, Japan in November 2022.For comparison purposes, school visits and informal hearings with teachers were also conducted abroad.These interviews provided the basis for the development of a wide-scale survey to be conducted in 2023.
