英文摘要
The Panel Element Test, built in 1979, is a unique test facility developed at the University of Toronto and unmatched elsewhere. It enabled, for the first time anywhere, the testing of reinforced concrete panel specimens under general in-plane loading conditions including pure shear. The test data that were subsequently acquired from experiments performed on this facility led to the development of a general model for describing the behaviour of reinforced concrete structural elements: the Modified Compression Field Theory. This model has subsequently been incorporated into codes used in Canada, and elsewhere, for the design of reinforced concrete structure. As well, it has been implemented into advanced analysis software.
