In two way radio communication, Erlang-C traffic model is widely used. Though, the basic Erlang concept was widely adopted, but it did not cover all the aspects required. Elements including traffic density at peak periods and factors to include the number of calls that were blocked and needed to be tried again were also important and needed to be incorporated. In applications, where number of block call needed to be reduced, the Erlang model does not work well. Other adaptations to handle queuing also needed to be developed in Erlang model. Therefore, developing a new statistical model for traffic control is of prime importance for two way radio communication. So, in this proposal, we want to develop a realistic traffic model for two-way radio communications. Another important problem in two-way radio communications is the allocation of channels. As such the blocking probability of the users is minimized while keeping the operating cost low. We want to develop innovative channel allocation mechanisms considering the realistic traffic model.
