Investigation of in-stream construction-induced suspended sediment fate in river systems

Current regulatory-prescribed environmental protection measures create environmental, economic, and safetyrisks for construction companies. The objective of this research is to examine, in detail, the fate of suspendedsediment resulting from in-stream construction activities to better understand suspended sediment exposurerisks to aquatic ecosystems and inform the selection of construction methodologies when considering in-streamconstruction activities. Where possible, more pragmatic and sustainable in-stream construction practices willbe developed.
