STS Tracer Services Ltd is seeking a solution that provides on-site and immediate analysis of the flowbackfluid for fracking and water flooding during oil and gas extraction processes. Currently, industry methods foranalysing tracers in-lab testing requires about 3-10 business day time-lag between the collection of sample, analysis and receiving lab results. During this time, fracking and water flooding cannot be stopped which leadsto sub-optimal implementation of these costly operations.Development of a tracer and analysis method for on-site and immediate analysis of the flowback fluid has thepotential to significantly reduce cost and improve efficiency of fracking and water flooding operations, leadingto higher oil and gas recoveries than the current practice. This grant will support the development of tracing agents and simple analytical method that would allow theidentified tracing agent to be consistently detected on-site within 50 ppb to 500 ppb when 1 part tracing agentis mixed with 1 million parts of water.
