Accurate performance measure and development of coatings

Liquid repellent coatings have garnered huge attention among scientific communities owing to their widespectrum of possible applications. These coatings have played crucial role not only in developing new tools andtechnologies but also helped in improving the performance of existing ones. To this point, plethora of reportsclaiming liquid repellent coatings have been surfaced, however, very few have managed to get recognized forindustrial applications. Still the search for cost effective and durable liquid repellent coatings is ongoingactivity; this proposal abides the objective of development of a highly durable liquid repellent coating withpotential of being utilized for industrial applications. The liquid repellent coating will be designed by thepartner industry and its performance evaluation will be carried out at iSSELab University of Alberta. Theperformance of the coating will be investigated in different environment conditions and the effect of variousparameters on the durability of the coatings will be probed.
