Evaluation of Gasification of Wood Waste for the Production of Marketable Pellets and Clean Electricity Production

Kirby Waste Transfer Solutions (KWTS) is a fully licensed waste transfer station under the Ontario Ministry of Environment focused on delivering green and environmentally friendly solutions to handle construction and demolition waste from the Greater Toronto Area. ****KWTS plans to convert their wood waste to useful products or energy and have partnered with Lambton College's Lambton Energy Research Centre to find solutions to their wood waste disposal problem with a focus on gasification and wood pelletizing technologies. ****The research team will work with KWTS's team closely to evaluate the suitability of gasification and pelleting technologies to handle KWTS' wood waste. The partner will benefit through the proposed project by improving the electricity production through wood waste gasification and positively impacting the environment by removing waste from landfills.
