This award will support a conference entitled The UAB International Conference on Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics. The conference will take place during March 15-21 on the University of Alabama, Birmingham campus. The objective of the conference is to bring together researchers from North America and abroad with a major interest in the differential equations of mathematical physics. The following professors have agreed to give one hour lectures: Jack Hale, Michel Lapidus, Elliott Lieb, Pierre-Louis Lions, Roger Newton, Paul Rabinowitz, Klaus Schmitt, Barry Simon, and Johannes Sjstrand.
