9353896 Granger The University of Missouri, in collaboration with St. Louis University and Washington University, seeks to initiate a 6-week multi-disciplinary summer commuter, Young Scholars program for 35 high ability high school students entering grade 12. The students are provided the opportunity to do a research project in mathematics, science, or engineering under the guidance of a university faculty mentor. In addition to a research experience and classroom lectures and discussions in mathematics and various scientific disciplines, students are provided with formal instruction on technical communication skills and career confabs which expose them to a variety of technically oriented job possibilities.
